Systolic v2 user instructions

Using Systolic is easy and it supports you in ensuring your blood pressure is under control. Use your blood pressure meter according to its instructions and then save the provided values into Systolic blood pressure app.

Blood pressure meter, also known as a sphygmomanometer, blood pressure monitor, or blood pressure gauge, is a device used to measure blood pressure. It’s composed of an inflatable cuff to collapse and then release the artery under the cuff in a controlled manner. Blood pressure meters can be bought from almost any retailers.

Important! The data is stored into the device only and it's a good practice to make a backup occasionally, so that you can restore it any time e.g. in case you lost your device or if you just want to transfer the data to another device. The data is controlled only by you and nobody else can access it and we don't share it with 3rd parties. The report can be stored to the cloud by you and you can control what data is being reported and who else can access it via web browser.

Tip! It is easy to print the report with PC when you send it to yourself and then open and print it with your PC. This way you can also create a PDF file from the report

Save the values you measured

Most digital blood pressure meters provide you systolic, diastolic and pulse values. You might also want to check your weight every now and then and keep track of that. You can also provide additional comments in order to figure out if certain occasions correlate with a blood pressure. Finally press Save button and the results will be stored for reporting.

It’s a good idea to make at least two blood pressure measurements every morning and evening two minutes from each others. Systolic calculates then averages automatically. A 2min timer can be used to remind about the next measurement. A date and time are kept up to date automatically when the refresh (circular arrow) icon is selected i.e. blue. You can also select other dates and times for readings.

Check the report

Along with when you save more and more results, Systolic creates invaluable report containing the graphical chart. It allows you to track how your blood pressure is evolving. You can scroll the chart left and right and select different time spans. Report contains averages of morning and evening measurements so that all measurements after 12 are included into evening average. The report that you can share includes the chart for the same period that you have visible on the screen, additional information and detailed results.

In order to take a deeper look at the report and share it, you can rotate the device and turn into a landscape mode. Landscape mode is optimised for viewing the report and it occupies whole screen. The share button on the top right corner allows you to share the report.

There are also more time ranges available for the report. They can be selected when pressing Report button when already in the Report tab.

Modify monitoring periods

Single tapping of titles collapses (closes) and uncollapses (opens) the monitoring periods. The arrow on the right side indicates if the period is collapsed or not. Double tapping the item will allow you to edit the details.

In order to remove the result, you can swipe the item left. Note! You can remove the title that starts the monitoring period after you have deleted items underneath.

When you want to start a new monitoring period then press 2 seconds the item that starts the period. The period will last as long as you start a new one.

After using PEFlog or Systolic for some time you’ll end up having a long list of readings. It often makes sense to group readings according to the monitoring periods. The most meaningful readings are typically the most recent ones and the readings appear in chronological order in the log-tab. In order to jump to the most recent readings, i.e. to the bottom of the list, you can just press the Log-button when already in the log-tab. In order to jump back to the top of the list, you can press the button in the top right corner.

A blue icon indicates that both systolic and diastolic blood pressure are at the correct level. An orange icon means that either of the readings is too high and a red icon indicates both values are too high.

Backup and Restore

All data that you save is stored into your device only. You might need to transfer your data to another device in case you are switching to a new one or just in case if you happen to lose your device. In order to have the data available for another device, then Backup and Restore function does the trick for you.

Backup

Select Backup and restore from the drawer menu (top left corner). Then press Backup button and send the link, that Systolic creates, to yourself via email or so. Systolic uploads a backup file to the server and replaces the older backup file in case it already exists.

Restore

When using another device, you can restore the data using the link you sent to yourself earlier. Copy the link to the clipboard from the email at first. Then open the Backup and restore functionality from the drawer menu and keep Restore button pressed so that you can paste the link there. After you press Done, then the Systolic attempts to restore the data. Systolic downloads the backup file from the server. The entries that have the same date and time are then updated and new entries are appended to the device without removing already existing data.
